Antisperm antibodies ASA are the main cause of immunological infertility, as they impair sperm function by binding to the sperm membrane. In this study, we isolated highly enriched sperm membrane proteins by two-dimensional 2D gel electrophoresis. A total of 18 antigens were identified by the subsequent 2D Western blotting using ASA from seminal plasma samples of infertile patients. Six of the recognized proteins were isolated and analysed by means of mass spectrometry and peptide matching. The biochemical identification of these proteins will be helpful in understanding the mechanisms by which ASA impair both sperm function and fertilization.

Sperm Motility Regulatory Proteins: A Tool to Enhance Sperm Quality
By Sandhya R. Sperm forward motility is an essential parameter in mammalian fertilization. The purified sperm motility-initiating protein MIP from caprine epididymal plasma as well as the forward motility-stimulating factor FMSF and motility-stimulating protein MSP from buffalo and goat serum, respectively, have high efficacy to initiate or increase motility in nonmotile or less motile sperm.
Background: The selection of sperm with good genomic integrity and surface antigens is suggested for improving assisted reproductive technology ART outcome. Methods: In this study, semen samples were obtained from men who presented at Avicenna Fertility Clinic for their treatment. The specificity of these three biomarkers was It was shown that DFI was Conclusion: By comparing the efficiency of these three biomarkers for selecting sperm with the lowest level of chromatin damages, it seems that selection based on HSPA2 has significance over others.
