As the accused Minxx shooter awaits trial, the Review-Journal, in a three-part series, revisits the crime and explores the ups and downs of the police investigation that followed the shooting. Through the use of interviews, witness statements, police notes and other materials from the investigation, the newspaper reconstructs the events that eventually led authorities to the man they believe opened fire at the Minxx. Along the Strip, bands of young men had run wild over tourists and workers, resulting in dozens of arrests and fevered debate over whether Las Vegas should ever again host an NBA All-Star Game. But in the pre-dawn hours of Monday morning, it appeared the weekend had passed without real and lasting damage. A gunman was on the loose.

Robert Reid also was ordered to stay out of trouble, perform hours of community service and take anger management counseling. Authorities said the Minxx strip club fracas, which occurred in February , was triggered by Jones. The current Cincinnati Bengal showered strippers with hundreds of dollar bills as they danced. The fight erupted when strippers began picking up the cash. Arvin Kenti Edwards, 32, is serving four to 10 years in prison for attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon. Three people were wounded, including bouncer Tommy Urbanski, who was paralyzed from the waist down.

Just minutes after "making it rain," Jones was involved in a fight inside the club. A short time later, three people were shot outside the club. Jones initially was charged with felony coercion for his role in the melee. The charge later was reduced, but the incident ultimately helped push his NFL career to the brink. The video and documents, including witness statements, search warrants and internal police memos, were obtained by "Outside the Lines" and the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

All curvy lines, retro furniture and modern details, Minxx feels like a film set. And despite its 15,sq ft 1,sq m size, the club offers the illusion of intimacy. There's but one large stage, surrounded by chairs and bottle-service VIP tables.
