Semilla Nueva envisions a developing rural Guatemala, where farmers have harnessed the power of new sustainable agriculture technologies, community organization, and engagement with local government. Our work with biofortification, or conventionally breeding crops to contain higher levels of essential nutrients, promises to push us further towards this vision. By allowing farmers to grow foods that are more nutritious to their families, they simultaneously grow their communities out of poverty and preventable illness. Convinced of their potential, we are now working to expand access to crops like these from the select communities we have worked with in the southern coast of Guatemala to communities across the nation.

Home Alone is primarily a coming-of-age home alone and wanting in nampo about an 8-year-old boy named Kevin McCallister. After events transpire between him and his family, he wishes he had no family when his mother is punishing him for what he feels are unjustified reasons. She warns him to be careful what he wishes for and he ignores it. He wakes up the next day to discover he is the only one left in the house. He thinks his wish came true and that he is finally alone without his obnoxious family.
