I'm from the US and will be leaving for Ireland in a few days. As most people are aware, we drive left hand drive cars in the US on the right side of the road. I understand that most rental cars in Ireland come with manual transmission, and that automatics are a fair bit more expensive. My question is this - how easy is it to adapt to driving on the other side of the road, and also drive a stick shift car , given that I'll be operating it now with my left hand? Is the gearbox pattern the same?
